Shuny's Web save converter closed for redevelopment.

shuny_save_logo1.jpg

The Shuny Save Game Converter Web site is being recoded. Due to a lack of updates and the structure of the current code base, the developer has decided to start from scratch. There is no release date set for the new site. Please read the spoiler for a message from the developer.

Hello

The lack of motivation to arrange this converter that now affects me for 2 years didn't improve in the good way To be honest, I have worked on many projects, leaving this one dead The only solution I found to that problem is to delete everything on the server and start from scratch Fixing the current converter would require too much time and would be really dirty.

Now I'll need a lot of "samples" aka. savefiles. Please send any saves you have at [email protected]. Please precise the origin of the savegame (Type of the linker, version of the firmware ...)

By the way, this savegames converter will remain closed until the new one is up. Don't ask for help at my mail, please. If nobody wants to participate, then I'll need to close the website forever, as I can't code anything without samples If you have any questions about the future of the savegames converter, just ask by mail. I'll be pleased to answer.

Regards,
Shuny.

Please help him with his redevelopment by sending in your save files!

He should mention the offline converter on the site, even if he doesn't support it. Because the converter was (is) such an useful tool and I know I'll have forgotten where to get the offline version when I need to convert something next :]

Plus it would save him from tons of spam from kiddies asking what to do now.

Edit: Now you made this into a news post, so I won't have difficulties finding the Offline-App when I need it

Figures it was the day I create an account on his forum that he closes the converter.

Nevertheless I sent some save files from retail games his way.

Yeah, flashcarts have come a long way and most of them all use the same file format now. But that hasn't always been the case.

This makes me feel good, having my tool linked to on the front page of GBAtemp.Net.

Good thing I have unlimited bandwidth.
[Edit]
I am also currently working on an online save converter.

The only slot-1 device I've used has been a CycloDS, which I assumed just used basically the same raw save data that's stored on the cartridge? Especially as I'm able to restore the Cyclo's saves back to the original cartridge.

I wouldn't mind seeing his website add GBA save conversion, though... from those stupid Gameshark formats and stuff.

Lol, just when I decided to save a web archive of the converter.
Now I can still use it even though it's closed.

A web archive doesn't save server side code.
And you would need to run your own local server anyway even if you somehow had gotten the scripts - which you didn't.

Just use converter by Unique.

Hello,

Thanks for your support. The converter is now back online but not in its final version. If you see any bugs, just post here, I always take a look at GBATemp

If you have saves to share, I still need it
wink.gif
The perfect save set would be a package containing TLOZ: Spirit Tracks, Pokemon: Heart Gold and any other save you have
smile.gif
But I'm not that difficult
tongue.gif
If you have any saves, it'll be greatly appreciated

And again thanks for your support, tempers

I remember being able to convert a save file correctly by using the web archive I saved.
But it doesn't matter anyway now, since it's back on.
