Nintendo need to bring back the Power Glove. That's the only thing that can save them at this point and the wold is finnaly ready.
I'll have you know that the Powerglove was actually made by Mattel, Nintendo merely licensed it. :P
I stated Vita in my post. Its in your first reply.

The Vita doesn't cost $300 anymore because time has passed and the handheld has flopped. It did cost $300 at launch. I wouldn't refer to the smartphones because ones that are compatible with the PS4 remote-play cost even more.
At no point in time did the PSVita cost $300 - it launched at $249, unless you mean the 3G version which was priced $299.

Do you have a 3DS? I'm willing to wager that you probably do. Put yourself in this very simple scenario - you have a Wii U 2 *shudders*, you're paying about $100-140 less for it, so what do you do? Why, you grab a 4DS for $189 or so. What you end up with is a killer combo of entertainment at home and on the go. Pleasant idea? Of course it is. Those who aren't interested in a 4DS simply grab the core console, those who are just grab a 4DS. Simple.

There's research being done that might go towards making a gaming glove that uses ultrasound to read your movements.

I was referring to the 3G version, but I did however forget a version without that feature released for $250. My mistake.

While that seems nice, I feel like the remote-play feature on the Vita is one of the reasons the Vita has failed. Sony viewed the feature as one of the selling points for the Vita and, in turn, failed to give the Vita the attention it needed. The Vita has a sad little library, and I'd hate to see that happen to a Nintendo handheld. Maybe it would work for Nintendo because their handhelds have always been important to them, or perhaps I'm completely wrong in my way of thinking, but I would hate to see a Nintendo handheld get the Vita treatment.

Sad little library? It has 902 games as of today, plus PSP games, plus PSN Minis, plus PS4 streaming. Stop perpetuating a complete myth. I easily played more games on my PSVita than I have on my 3DS which enjoys brief moments of glory in-between of Pokemon releases, don't be silly

Half that list is games unreleased in the US and Europe along with a bunch of Japan-only games. I see a bunch that don't even have estimated release dates yet.

Not a problem since y'know, the PSVita isn't region locked like some other systems still are for whatever reason. :P Even if we assume that there's only 400-odd in the west, that's still a hefty library to choose from - more than the N64 ever enjoyed, for instance.

No. The next Nintendo console should bury the Wii, the Wii U, the architecture and everything around it. If they want a controller with a screen, they should integrate their handheld into the ecosystem instead of bundling their new console with what amounts to an economical anchor that slows everything down. Nintendo should start from scratch with a system that's at the very least competitive, not laughable. Forget the gamepad, forget the Wiimote, forget BC - the market has spoken and it doesn't want the gimmicks anymore.
pretty much this. if nintendo wants to survive, they should focus on hardcore gamers and make a real console that can compete the next PS5. they were lucky to seize casual gamers with Wii, but that luck couldn't stay forever. most people/casual gamers who bought wii didn't buy wii u, did they? and will there be any reason for them to buy the next nintendo console?

still, nintendo is always able to surprise us. they may still have tricks on their sleeves to regain their lost market share, we can never underestimate nintendo. even if they make another underpowered hardware later, maybe they still can seize some market with certain gimmicks. after all, they own mario and zelda.

Only if it were optional and also to be compatible with Wii U games that require it but.. truth to be told, most of those GamePad games would work fine with a traditional controller anyway.

Hopefully Nintendo doesn't fuck up next time.

Oh yeah, Nintendo, ADD ANALOGUE TRIGGERS TO THE CONTROLLER!!

Just watch when Project CARS comes out how high it'll be praised by Wii U owners without realizing how much they're missing... :)

The PDP Afterglow controller for the Wii U appear to have analogue triggers but it's probably just another false impression like they did for the Smash Wii U Fight Pads.

This unboxing video shows the small triggers of the PDP Afterglow controller:

It does suck that none of the Wii U official controllers have analogue triggers.. except for GameCube Wii U but that's only compatible with one game.

Those must be faux triggers, as there's no way for games to tell the difference since there's only one official model of the Wii U Pro Controller and that has digital triggers.

Nintendo's GameCube Controller Adapter is just a cash grab, nothing more and nothing less. You have to leave it to homebrew developers to actually make use of the adapter.

I've not gone through the topic (bit drunk! ) but I do know, and again no links coz intoxicated, but the current rumours do suggest an ecosystem between next console and next handheld... Problem with that, thinking about it after a few bevvies, wojuld be the price were they bunfled together, but a 'best of both worlds' does seem evident if this rumour os true... indeed, I suspect if the Wii U was trading punches with the PS4 and Xbox One in the first place, no one would probably be slagging off the gamepad in the first place - clearly they need to sort out this gap in raw power for the 'next gen'
I personally think the gamepad is great anyway, it's other parts of the machine that let it down somewhat.

Pretty sure they couldn't be arsed payting the bill at court for that, henct Classic Controller Pro replacing regular Classic..... Not gonna happen anytime soon...
