Gaming Should I uprgrade from DS Lite to a DSI?

If you've been wanting a DSi, it does come with some nice features. You have the cameras, the DSi store, a better web browser than any homebrew version for the DS, and a nicer interface to boot.

You do lose a slot 2 though which is disappointing for those with no other way to play their GBA games (I mean legit, not ROM's).

The DSi should be more inexpensive at this point, especially if you find a good used one. Depending on the reception of the 3DS in your area, you may be able to find one for relatively cheap if you go to the right place.

dsi-ware is really fun, although only a handful of titles have interested me. iÂ’ll attach a link to my post were you can research dsi-ware and read reviews. the camera is also fun, but doesn't serve much of a purpose when it comes to gaming (mostly gimmick stuff). dsi-mode is nice if you buy a cyclods ievo, but right now its still buggy, yet it is expected to be better in the coming months with the rumors of another flash kit on the way.

after buying my dsi xl i haven't touched my ds lite. the larger screens are the way to go, also the larger form factor seems just right for me.

if you want gba stuff you can always pick up a flash kit that supports a cpu enhanced emulator (ismart mm, iplayer, scds2, etc). so its not like you could never play a gba game again if you bought a dsi, you just need a flash kit that supports gba emulation.

my light was the best thing when i owned it. it has taken trips across the country, been scratched to hell, beta tested thousands of projects, and served me really well. but when it came time to upgrade the dsi xl was a no brainer for me.

I would only get an XL. then you can use the lite for out of the house and the XL for at home. That is a great way of doing it. I wouldn't bother upgrading to a DSi unless you have nothing to take photos (phone) or play music (ipod). Even then an XL is better. If you have large quantities of money you could use a DSi for outside and an XL for at home. That would also be nice

IMO, no. Save up the money for 3DS or NGP or for an XL. i Agree with danweb and zerodeception! It's not worth it, and for me i dont even have the Dsiware feature simply because i living in singapore and it's not available to us.

My conclusion : Control any urges to buy and save up the money for something better in the future!
