a new luma3ds just came out
also which updater should i use
homebrew or the cia edition
i heard from youtube the cia edition wouldnt work
i wanna know from you guys.

There's a lot to unpack here. Your answer depends in part on which version of Luma3DS are you currently using. When you hold Select while booting your 3DS, which version of Luma3DS is displayed at the top of your configuration settings?

i think that was the youtuber
I don't care about YouTube videos. They are typically out-of-date and/or incorrect. As I said earlier, if you are already using Luma3DS 8.0 or 8.1, you can update Luma3DS by running the newer version of Luma Updater or by merely replacing the boot.firm on your SD card with the Luma3DS 8.1.1 version.

I had the same questions and thanks to Lacious I now understand more.

One question that I still have is, when we first installed luma it does put boot.firm in 2 places right?
root of sdcard and ctr nand!!

When updating luma via net, does auto update in both places?

If we update manually, is it better to update in both places? or just in the root of sdcard?
