Ok based on 67birdman's post, you should totally keep your psp. Because it can run mp3s and videos like any other mp4 on the market

I respect it that you like "hardcore" games and want a multi-tasking system and want fast and powerful processing.... But if you wanted a game console that can run mp3 and videos..... then for what reason do you want a game console? DS has more fun and for that as a game console you should keep it. But if you want a multimedia device get a mp4 or a psp.
That's not what I'm saying, my point is that the graphics of the DS make it much less fun to play games.
I agree on the titles out for the DS are better than the PSP, but all I'm trying to say is that the DS needs better graphics.
What's the point of games like COD on the DS if the visuals aren't good?
Sure you'll have fun jumping around with Super Mario, but what about the other games?

Gaming started off with bad graphics anyways. From the looks of it, you shouldn't have or will not enjoy many great games from SNES and NES and all. Did Tetris and Space Invaders start off with good graphics? No. Are they fun? Hell, they are classics.

I respect you like good graphics. But you are gaming, its really the gameplay and the essential fun that matters. Graphics can be considered an extra feature for old school gamers (though I'm not one). If I wanted good graphics, wouldn't watching a CG film be better? Its the gameplay, the gameplay.

I would never recommend selling the DS for better graphics. Getting both is alright. But the DS has more potential for fun.

Anyways, Reaper, you sold it yet? Or did you change your mind

67birdman, we don't care if you like the GAMES on Sony systems more. You just bashed a GAME system because it couldn't play internet or MP3 files and whatnot. Game systems' purposes aren't to play music, movies, or internet. That's why the DS has done better than PSP. It focuses on games instead of multimedia. I could bash the SNES or GBA because it can't play music or search the internet. There is a reason these things are called GAME systems. They are meant to play games, not anything else. And the DS can play most any format of music perfectly if I wanted to. Moonshell does that. Internet sucks on any mobile device anyways. It was meant to be used on a PC or laptop.

I sold my PSP because the lack of games made it pointless to own, even if I wasn't buying the games. What is the point in owning a console or handheld if there aren't any good games for it that you like? What is the point in playing a game just to look at the graphics? Games are about fun and enjoyment, if you think graphics will make the games better for you, you are just proving that you are a casual gamer and a Sony/Microsoft fanboy. The Wii has great games with inferior graphics, isn't stopping Nintendo from being successful.

i always hold my DS and PSP close to my heart i love them both maybe the DS a tiny bit more (big N fan-boy here) but KHBBS is coming out soon so i hold on to it and if you are a real gamer you would get both i saved up for 2 years to get my psp 2000 and DS/DSlite so hold on to it or you will regret it OR JUST GET A DSI

67birdman, I'll give you one thing, you're taking this very well. 99% of the people out there saying graphics are so very important are usually the kind of people to lash out and flame when someone disagrees. I disagree completely, but I respect you for actually talking about it.

But there's one thing very wrong with your statements. You're saying that the DS, while it does have good fun games, the graphics are lacking. Titles like COD (you could probably throw MOON and some other full 3D titles in there) are less appealing, and lesser titles overall because of the lack of visual quality. The problem is that you're comparing 2 very different systems. You're essentially comparing the SNES to the Playstation. Sure, one system is more powerful than the other, and can produce better graphics, but you can't compare non-alike systems based on potential power. You can't say the first Metroid isn't a good game because it doesn't look at good as Metroid Prime.

Now, I've noticed you've also said Nintendo should have spent more time making the DS more powerful. While it would have been nice to have a more powerful DS, it obviously isn't necessary. Obvious, because look at how well the system has done, and the quality of the games that were made for that system. Plus, it was made at a time that its technology was cheap to produce, but still fairly up to date, which is something Nintendo is well known for (Wii). Sure, they could have made it comparable to the PSP, but at the time it came out, it would have cost far more, therefore had a far smaller fan base.

I bought a ds lite the day it was released in North America. I sold it later on to get a psp because i was impressed with it's graphic. I got bored with the psp after a month because the library just sucks. Selling my ds was the biggest mistake I ever made. I sold my psp and got another ds because nothing beats the ds gameplay.
Anyway, my advice is to stick with you ds. You'll be loosing too much money selling your ds to make it worth it.

Well, thanks for taking that so nicely..
Others are so pissed off I even mentioned that, I guess I'm too excited about my PSP
