Hello Gbatemp forums, i'm still a bit new here, and was looking to have a discussion. I am still at the original grey fat ds, and its lately not reading cards and freezing, including official games. GBA no longer works. Should i purchase a 3ds? I am recently getting into homebrew, and i really like it so far. If i get a 3ds, are the 3ds flashcarts worth the money? I mainly want 3ds to replace my ds with new graphics, better wifi connection options, and the fact that games are coming out on it more now. From everyones personal experience, should i purchase it or get a ds lite. (P.S. I had great experiences with the ds lite, and love it much more than a dsi or my current fat ds. GBA compatibility is a plus, but i have a GBA SP, so don't use it as a big driving factor) Thanks!

Well if you don't mind buying used you can get a 3DS for 110ish. If you want a DSI you can get one used for like 40ish depending on where you buy one.

It depends on whether you like the game lineup or not. 3D is just a gimmick and can be turned off at will, so what you should be really focusing on is the games. Are you interested in them? Do you see yourself playing games announced at a later date? It just depends.

IMO I'd get the DS Lite now and wait a few months until some more games are released for the 3DS. Perhaps save up your money a little and get an XL or something.

Thanks Supr, yeah I will probably buy my friends ds lite for 20 bucks, good condition and working. I currently don't have a big interest in any of the games so far, so ill get that. Thanks Everyone.

Yeah the 3D is gimmick, but I still play with it on all the time, I prefer it that way.

IMO, I think you should get a 3DS, even if it's a used one. Mainly because there are great titles out there already, and they will keep you tied over until even more games come out.

If the price of the 3DS isn't too far away from the 3DS XL, get the XL version. It has a much more appealing screen, better battery life and better design.

Thanks guys for everything, I am leaning currently to the 3ds, but pretty soon i will have decided. Once again, thanks for the help
