Hardware Should i destroy my nintendo switch ?

Least you can do is giv it to a charity shop tel of course its half broken and visit the next day and see what price they put on it

I feel your pain, man. my first switch died somehow. it would no longer turn on or it would turn on, show the Nintendo logo, then turn off. it was still under warranty though, and I didn't hack it in any way, so Nintendo sent me a refurbished system. I lost all saves though. I've gotten to the same point in every game I had aside from mega man x6, which is frustrating as hell to get 100%.

Blending and microwaving are out of the question, it has been done too many times already.
I wonder if it would crush inside an hyperbaric chamber...

Usb-c port repair at local shop €100
Micro sd reader €50 at repair shop
That's €205.. I can better buy a new one i think.. I have this console for 1year normal use .. this is just dissapointing

yeah, that's the cost for YOU to get it repaired, as i mentioned before people with the ability to fix it will happily buy it, with £6 of parts (£2, analogue stick, £2 usb-c port, £2 sd card slot)and have a fully working switch to resell....that is why you still get a decent price reselling

You have to differenciate a bit here. Sure you voided the waranty of the Software but not the waranty of the Hardware itself if you didnt open it. Nintendo would have to prove that your change to the Software directly caused the failure of the Hardware which is very hard of them. In my opinion

They make it a bit too clean, logs and such are wiped, which will look suspicious.
But, maybe they won't check.

They will probably repair it, patch the exploit and send it back. The console is banned so it would be almost useless if they patch the exploit.

Yeah i tought of that but what of they repair it and patch the exploit ? Since it's banned it would be almost useless without cfw

if they replace the motherboard with a patched unit it would no longer be banned, but out of warranty repairs with nintendo iirc are about £200 for motherboard repair (which would fix 2 of the issues) not sure if they would just fix the controller at the same time

personally i would still recommend just selling it on eBay or something, even if you sell just the console and buy a replacement tablet part, you will probably end up pretty much breaking even

oh and you can try the quick dirty fix on the controller, try spinning the left analogue stick for a while, usually the drifting is caused by dirty contacts, liberal spinning on the stick can clean it up, you can also re-calibrate the stick in the system settings, or just buy a replacement analogue stick for a few pound on eBay

They want to charge you a premium for a service you don't have the skills to perform yourself. Someone who knows what he is doing can replace the SD card reader and USB port in about an hour. The Joycon is easy to fix yourself, just buy a repair kit and look up a tutorial on Youtube.

It may still be in warranty if it's not a launch console, that is assuming they don't find out that it's hacked.
