I just dug out my RGH modded 360 Slim. I needed the included 2TB drive (internal) for a project, and just installed a 500gb drive (internal) in it's place, as I don't need 2TB for a 360.

What is a good installation guide for Aurora Dashboard (the included dashboard was FSD, but I read that it is out of date), and how can I play Original Xbox games/homebrew? Finally, I have a large 360 collection in .ISO format, so what is the best way to play those off my hard drive?

Thanks!

Use dashlaunch to make aurora deafault dash

Use xbox hacked compatibility files to play OG / Classic Xbox games

Follow this tut.
Substitute Freestyle Dash with Aurora.
The latest dashlaunch 3.18.1 can be found with a little google work.

As for running backups.
I recommend using Xbox Image Browser to rip the files out of the ISO's.
You could use ISO2GOD to convert them into Game on Demand files, some games only work as this format tho they are rare.

I have a bunch of OG Xbox games that aren't ISO, but rather each game is it's own folder with a bunch of files/folders + default.xbe
Can I just use my FTP program (in my case, FlashFXP) to just transfer each game folder to my 360 HDD, and they will work in Aurora Dash?

I wanted to use ISO2GOD to FTP to my 360.

Got Aurora up and running, but I don't see a section for Original Xbox games. How do I launch those, and where do I install the hacked compatibility folders/files?

Install to hddx. If no hddx use app to make hddx. Comes with pack. There are several versions and both have similar installs.

For Xbox titles (All titles) you have to setup where your games are (Game Paths). Press start and then content. You'll see option to browse. Change scan depth to 10 as well in same menu. Run a scan once your scan paths are setup and you'll start seeing your games populate.

Just wanted to add that some games also only work in their extracted form - I can only name Splinter Cell Chaos Theory, as I have never managed to run it as a GOD game.

Just reading up this thread because having had my original XBOX go down with a power problem, I just want to be able to keep playing my NFL2K5 on my 360.
I have the latest version of Aurora running and I think I still have FSD on the system. How do I get my XBOX original ISO to run? I know it's a game that works fine on 360.

Side question... Is a firmware flashed drive still the only way to burn an XBOX disc?

You can't play ISOs using Aurora, you should google Qwix and convert it to folder format then it'll be playable as long as you have the hacked Xbox files which is already covered in this thread.

Yeah, I use XBOX Image Browser, I find Qwix has problems with certain ISOs.
I've extracted my ISO, I'll try throwing it into some folder and seeing if I can get FSD to see it. Shame that Aurora can't run original XBOX games.

Uhhh false, I have like almost 100 Xbox games on Aurora. I don't even know where you got that from they see original Xbox games just like they see 360 or XBLA games when you do a scan. You have to add the path first and then scan it's no different with 360, original Xbox or XBLA.

Oh really?? Ok, nevermind, I read incorrectly somewhere. Good then.
Something else I read was that you could also convert the game to some other game format? Not XBLA but something else, "on demand"? And that some games work that way? Do you know what that's about?

GOD (Games on Demand) if you have an Iso you can use Iso2God. I have used both GOD format and XEX on hundreds of games it didn't seem to matter which one I used both worked fine.

Ok, thanks. I'm a bit confused though which part of this thread explains how to get the hacked compatibility files onto my 360.

All good on setting everything up.
Solved the "dirty disc" problem. But I do get weird crashes to black. Is that just the way some XBOX games run on the 360?

Problem solved. The game was crashing because I hadn't noticed the whole disc wasn't copying in FSD because my HDD was full.
