Hacking Setting up an R4 Gold Pro - Help Please!

Hello,

Could someone please point out my error in trying to setup the above card with the 3ds. Here's what I have done so far:

Flash cart - R4 Gold Pro - with sticker on back saying "YD 2013"
3DS version - 4.4.0 - 10u
micro sdhc card - Patriot 8gb class 10, formatted fat32

Downloaded the wood r4i 1.51kernel update from r4i-gold. com
Extracted the files and copied the _rpg folder and ds_menu.dat file to the root of the micro sd card
installed sd card to flash cart
insert flash cart to 3ds
power up 3ds, menu shows the flash cart as "Konami Digital Entertainment"
When I select the flash cart, I get a white screen followed by a black screen with the word "loading" and then it turns to a white screen again and stays there.

What am I missing? Do I need to upgrade the 3ds to the latest system version for the flashcart to work? Or is the flashcart backwards compatible with older versions of the 3ds system? Please help. Thanks.

you need to update the firmware on the card by the sounds of it

you need a NDSPhat or a NDSLite or a DSi or a 3DS that it will load on to apply it tho

pls note : dont power off your console during update.In fact,i have tested my r4i-gold pro ,it works perfectly. Good Luck !
