Sega have purchased Three Rings, the developers of Puzzle Pirates and Spiral Knights, and will collaborate with them on their upcoming Dr Who MMO. The announcement was made on the Three Rings website, where founder Daniel James assured people that current games would not be affected.

Earlier this year the BBC was working with Three Rings on a Dr Who MMO dubbed Dr Who: Worlds in Time, Sega will now be working with them on the project.

Wasn't they involved somehow with Spiral Knights? I remember seeing the logo at one point.

I thought they already owned them..

I signed up for the beta for this.

Off topic the PS3 game thats in the works better be amazing. Anyone know who is working on that one?

Meh, personally I thought they'd do something nicer with the idea, Dr. Who could be awesome if they made a 3D game with good graphics (I don't really care about graphics, but to feel the world of Dr. Who better it'd be awesome with good graphics)... Oh well, I'll try it none the less.

Huh.

I need to sleep. I came in here expecting to read about a Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy MMO. Yeah, I read Dr. Who, but the first thing that came to mind was HHGTG. That would have been so much win. Starting from being a regular British Earthling, getting hitchhiked to space, avoiding Vogons, researching Improbability drives, equipping your ship with the definitive cloaking device (Somebody-Else's-Problem fields, or SEP fields), that sort of adventure.

*sigh*

There are the official Dr. Who games out, only available in the UK but there is a small fix in order to play them elsewhere. They actually aren't that bad, I've played one of them and it's pretty cool. Google is your friend ;)

On Topic, looks like shit. I am a huge Dr. Who fan but I'd never play this. Reminds me of like...Club Penguin...
