Seeing if someone copied a CD

My brother wants to know if I can copy files off a CD without someone knowing if the files have been copied off. Its just a burned CD with a bunch of jpegs on it. But the disc wasn't supposed to leave the office, and there is a big DO NOT MAKE COPIES OF THIS DISC on it. I don't think I have anything to worry about, but I'm just making sure

I very much doubt that there is a way to know whether a disk has been copied or not. I'd say you're pretty safe, go for it.

Well, noticing the CD is missing, I'm very doubtful that this is a risk. I just am going to copy the jpegs off, I don't think anyone will be able to tell

No lol, I just asked my brother what the deal with this disc is, and some guy is selling prints of pictures, and this is a disc with all the pictures on it, so thats why we can't copy it. The jpegs are high quality, so thats why he doesn't want them copied. I don't know why he didn't just give thumbnails, so even if there is a way to check if we copied the disc, I doubt he knows how to do it

You're kidding right? Man you watch too much tv

Unless the images have an identifier, no, they can't tell.

Did you make sure to not leave finger prints?
Did you lick the disc and leave a dna sample on it?
Did you take a picture of yourself copying the disk and leave it on the desk?
Did you look up and smile into the security camera while making your copy?
Did you leave a message on their computer "haha I copied your disk?
Did you go get drunk and brag loudly that you copied the disk?

Of course it also depends on what you do with the images eh.
If they are original game art and you go and splash it all over the net, that might be a bad idea.

Just hope he hasn't watermarked the prints.

He will not be able to see the disc has been copied but will know their source if they appear anywhere else.
