What's are the tools available to view what's happening in the 3DS' memory in real time?

After browsing a few posts I came to the conclusion that you either need a Gateway or play the game in question in Citra. But I don't own Gateway cart and the parts I want to view are the online stuff, which I can't go to in Citra.

Am I out of luck?

I tried that but it can only dump whatever currently is in ram at a given moment. It's not being done in real time.
