Hacking SDHC Issues

I always used an old Kingston 2Gb with my R4-sdhc. Today I tried to use a 4Gb SDHC. Class 4. Seemingly, I lost the ability to boot 128Mb roms. They just... freeze. What else could I try? Is the card unusable?

An R4 SDHC is a fake card, get a new card, one that supports SDHC, like a DSTT, for example.
