why is it so hard to get this thing to go in right?

I keep on pressing the pin in, and it FEELS like it goes into it's seat properly. but everytime I turn the console on, I get either a 'cannot find SD card' with regular firmware...or 'failed to initi sd card' with CFW firmware. what trick am I msising?

Something wrong with the connector maybe?

Did the SD card work before?
Some SD cards fail to play nice with the Switch.

it was the connector on the board. I had it replaced and it's working fine now
