Gaming SD Card problems

I've just tried loading up the homebrew channel on my wii,and theres no applications showing up.Also when i try to load saves off the sd card in the settings section i get an error saying that the device in the sd slot cannot be used which i presume means the wii is reading that there is something there but cant read it.
Im on a 3.2 EU Wii,so I was just wondering if it would be a problem with the sd card or the wii?(i dont have any other sd cards to test out sorry)

Have you formatted your SD card to FAT32? Are you sure that your SD card isn't locked? Have you put the Homebrew applications (apps) folder in the root of the SD card and put the applications in there?
