So I have a modded wii that I haven't used for a couple months (Version 4.3U) and it seems that my sd card slot isn't working. I thought that it was a problem with the sd card so I plugged it into my computer and it works properly so I think its a problem with the card reader for it. Is there any fix I could try?

Try cleaning the sd card slot, or try another sd card.
Assuming it's hardware failure and you don't intend to repair it, instead of an SD card you can use a hard drive formatted as fat32 to run pretty much all homebrew except for bootmii (syscheck may not work either)
