It is done with umdgen and somewhere in the option you save it as a cso and it then it compresses it.
You click file then save as then you select .cso. You can also change a .cso back to .iso by selecting save as .iso.

If you really want to remove the amount of space a game takes rip out other language files and sometimes downsample movies and various audio files. Also boot.bin for most games does nothing.

This. For example, the clean ISO of Tony Hawk's Project 8 is like 1.1GB. The CSO version with all music and movies ripped out is 181MB.

Scrubbing Wii games only takes out the update partition and data that's not needed in the ISO.

Compressing a PSP game doesn't do this.

Yeah its just an example but thanks for telling the difference!(Yeah didn´t know that yet) And Movie and music files? ehm no I won´t do that except:

How big is Dissidea Final Fantasy after doing that?(just wanna know)

Also, while it's not done automatically, most CSO-making guides do recommend you take out the update files before compressing to save more space. I always do it, anyways.

I always use YetAnotherCsoCompressor or YACC works great and you can go from ISO to CSO and vice versa with various levels of compression!
