Stuff from joystiq challenge.

Yeah, I saw the video.. The only really weird one was that someone was trying to attach a baby to a steak via rope, and then summon some sort of predictor (I forgot, maybe a lion). Yeah, that didn't work too well...

QUOTEI just wish there were better costumes. I'm not thrilled with the ones included, but maybe the final version will have some good ones I haven't seen.

Next time don't lie that you had dumped a game on the internet. It's quite obvious that it was Scribblenauts, seeing as how you know all about the game. Dude, it's just not cool.. :/

At this point in the hype vortex I'm trying to avoid anymore videos or previews of the game, but I read that Kotaku article and loved it. I think it's because he kept trying the same thing over and over again so he didn't exhaust all the possible ideas just to say he did.

Shows how complex some puzzles of the game can be, nice preview.

This increased my (slowly decreasing) hype. It's refreshing to see somebody struggling with the game, since the majority of the demos of the game make it look insanely easy.

Well, having played this at Comic-Con, I think it's time for my awesome preview:

I played for about 5 minutes due to a line being formed around me, so I don't have much to say other then: INCREDIBLE. I tried about 5 times to get a cat down from a tree. You can use simple things like a ladder, or stretch your imagination and use a flux capacitor. I thought there would be one thing that just wouldn't work, but there was nothing I couldn't use. Even baby Moses could be summoned if you felt list it. Anyways, buy this game when it comes out. Don't pirate it. Don't.

is it strange that i am not that hyped about this game ??, i mean sure you can draw stuff to solve puzzle and it's really open, but somehow i felt there will be limitation (e.g how the game will know what we are drawing and how the function)

Wow, maybe you should actually read up on the game or watch some videos because you obviously have no idea what this game is. There's no drawing involved. You write or type up any concrete noun you can think of and it appears in the game for you to use to solve puzzles or just to screw around with.

i see, that makes a lot sense and yeah after watching vids i am still not that interested, well maybe a little bit more but not as hyped as tales of innocence/tales of hearts/psp thingies out there

Well, of course, they can't put "everything" into the game, and when you boil Scribblenauts down, it's really a fairly simple idea. The thing that I think has everyone so psyched for the game is that no one's really doing anything like it. If you were to break down what the developers are actually doing with the game, it's not rocket science:

-Come up with some puzzles
-Create a huge list of relevant nouns
-Create images and animations for those nouns
-Program the A.I. to react in ways relevant to other objects and nouns within the game

But just those simple elements open up the gameplay in ways that will allow folks to play Scribblenauts in thousands and thousands of different ways. Most folks love to tinker, yet novelties grow old quick; Scribblenauts is poised to go way beyond that.

How do you feel about the controls? I was really disappointed to know that it was only controlled via touch screen. I was really hoping for the same platforming as Drawn to Life.

Yes i meant new words.i would like to have adjectives and specially some manga characters.
Yeah, right. If people could make their own words, draw them, and set behavior from a list (it probably wouldn't be that hard; I assume they have a limited set of variables to define most objects), you know perfectly well what most people would actually make. The list of downloads would read something along the lines of 'penis, penis, cock, huge penis, robot penis', etc.

"What a lovely game to give to my five-year-old son, with its adorable art style and cute marketing. Oh, hey, he wants to go online, what a lovable tyke. Now he's downloading...

OMG LAWSUITE!!!"

How about 'Robot Dinosaurs that shoot beams when they roar'?

ROFL!!! That is funny as hell, but I hope that it doesn't go down like that. It could ruin the game. Though the negative publicity could actually work in its favor in the long run.
