Hacking Screen position

So I don't know if this is even the right place but it is homebrew related. I've noticed the very top and bottom of the screen is being clipped when playing homebrews, including backups, apps, etc. This is most noticeable when playing the new Rick Dangerous where the first line or two of text is totally cutoff. Now I have a Samsung 27 inch HDTV with component cables attached, and my Wii is NOT set to 16:9 as this is not a widescreen TV... So does anyone have any clue why my screen is like this, how to adjust it, or is this just common with hombrews not getting dimensions all correct for all TVs? Thanks!

you can try adjusting the settings on your tv. But I though all HDTV's were widescreen.

I have noticed that as well on some games such as Tiger Woods 09 on my wide screen. Best thing to do is just change the viewing modes for a quick fix. You may get some black bars but at least it will be the whole picture. I am unsure why these games do this.
