Homebrew Save region locked?

sorry if this is a stupid question or has been answered before.

If I was to export the save of a game from a Europe game and import the save to the same game but for USA, would it work as long as the game doesn't check if the save data has been modified?

It's been confirmed to work for Pokemon XY/ORAS
