So I've installed the Homebrew Channel and the CIOS v10 beta 53.

The problem I have is when I try to install the "Smash Bros." Wii save, I get an "Error ret = -1" error message.

Any ideas how to fix that?

    Hi RadioShadow,

I encountered the same problem this weekend while moving my save data to my Wiiu. The problem (for me at least) was that there must already be save data for that game on the new Wii for the Save Manager to be able to copy it. Play each game once to create the save data, then attempt the install and you should succeed.

Just the same, thanks to mike333 for bringing my attention to the newer and more powerful SaveGame Manager GX. It claims to be able to copy Miis, which I couldn't get working with any other tool. BTW shame on Nintendo for removing the ability to import Miis into vWii mode on Wiiu. Seriously, it's like they're trying to find reasons for us to hack it.

What are you talking about? There is the Wii/Wii U Transfer tool/channel: http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/wiiu/en_na/system_system_transfer.jsp where you can transfer all Miis and saves to Wii U from the Wii.

But don't expect to find them back on your Wii (unless you have the HBC) after it because it removes them.

For those of us who want to continue to use their Wii in addition to adding a new WiiU to the home, the transfer tool is completely useless since it deletes all the Miis and save data off of the old Wii without asking permission. Also, my WiiU is not going to have access to the Internet until I find out which firmwares can be hacked (and because my first WiiU bricked during the firmware update from Nintendo).

Slightly off-topic, but is it possible that WiiU with original production firmware allows vWii until it connects to the internet and discovers that there's an update? My unit has never been connected, and vWii works fine. I suspect that this is another intentional 'protection' by Nintendo to prevent hacking.

    Oh sweet! Thank you!!

Even though I backed up my Miis and saves and did the Wii->Wii U transfer and reinstalled them back on my Wii, this will be a useful app.

    Thanks again.
