Hacking Save File Help

If I install a game to an external HDD using the ticket method will it recognize any of my previous save files/DLC that came from my legit disc copy? Or do I need to transfer the save? Thanks!

example being: I bought a disc copy of Smash Brothers + DLC. Would my game file transfer to the digital copy on the external HDD?

My save file and updates transferred from disc Mario Kart to installed Mario Kart. It will work for Smash 4. If you're scared about losing saves, dump them with saviine first. There's 0% chance you will lose the ability to redownload paid for DLC - so it's no biggy if you lose it through some weird happenstance.
