Hey, i changed my fire emblem game to .3dz from .3ds

Now it says my save file is corrupted.

Is there anyway of fixing this issue other than restarting the save/game?

Change it back to 3dz, restore the save then dump it with jksm or savedatafiler. Then change the game to .3ds and restore the save.

The corruption is caused due to the stored header data in the save of the .3ds, which is still present in the save when you converted the game file extension. Jksm or savedatafiler will restore the save the correct way, so you may continue your save

Thanks

The rom was originally .3ds, now its .3dz

So I change it back to .3ds and restore the save? How do I use savedatafiler?

I converted back to 3ds, tried to start a new game and saved it. Have I now messed up my ROM completely so it can't extract any saves? :(

I'm guessing that you're either using Gateway or SkyDS. You need to be running CFW in order to install and use savedatafiler or jksm.

Sure. The ability to install .cia files via Gateway is not as well documented / understood as other CFWs. OP does have BBM, so it should be possible.
