Hacking .SAV Files are 0kb

When I load a game and it prompts to create a .SAV file, it creates a 0kb save file. I've run into this problem for every DS game I've put onto the R4. The 0kb save file gives me some problems, as whenever I go back into the game selection menu, the R4 freezes, forcing to me to delete the save file on my computer.

I'm currently running YSMenu on my R4.

Before this happened, I replaced some files (.dat files) on my YSMenu, so that WarioWare DIY would work, could this be the problem?

this happened to me long before when i had an r4
all i did was i deleted all my ys menu stuff on my card and remade it and then i didnt have that problem
