Right, so i bought this mem stick for $73.00..
I formatted it, and it is magic gate supported and has 14GB total space instead of 16 which i assume is normal..
Although, when i go to select games from the mem stick, it takes around 10 secs before i can actually get into it.
On my old mem stick (2GB) it would take around 2 secs for the icon clip to play and allow me to get into the game.
Is there something wrong here? It also took around 10 mins to copy FF7 Crisis Core onto it

However, in game, the games work and save fine.

Waiting for the mem stick to read the isos for that extra 8 secs is noticeable..
Does yours do that too?
As in, take around 10 secs to read an iso (where you see the icon animation and wallpaper for the game, it takes approx 10secs for it to show up)

No mine reads the iso almost instantly

Well i'm thinking that it might have slowed when i extracted tekken 6 directly from the rar file into the iso folder..
Winrar stopped responding and would not close until i disconnected the cord.

Your card sounds iffy considering I also have the sandisk 16gb pro duo and it formats to 15gb(psp rounds it down I guess?) and it also loads as fast as my old 1gb sandisk. What I would do is download SD formatter and try formatting it with that(if that will even work?) or try a mixture of the PSP format and SD.

it said 14gb before i formatted too :\

EDIT: That's odd, formatted, plugged into comp, usb mode, i check the stick properties, it says 14.8GB free, although also says 15,996,420,096 bytes of free space available, which from what i understand is 15.9GB..
Used space is 640KB

O.o ouch $73, try the Panasonic SD Formatter and see if that will format the card.
If it does once it's finished put it in the PSP and let the PSP format it AGAIN for the correct system files, after that drag and drop 1 game at a time or 1 plugin at a time.

If it's still running slowly it's probably an iffy card.

I personally use a PhotoFast CR-5400 MS Pro Duo adapter: with 2x 8GB Kingston Micro SDHCs.

works like a charm.

Strange, I formatted from psp only, added one game and it loaded fairly quickly..
I'm gonna try a second now.

Usually if you add more than one thing at a time I find it more often than not messes up the stick and things either corrupt, run ridiculously slowly or just plain don't work.

I'll keep that in mind...
Right so i added Tekken 3 in, and it loads fine, now i added Crisis Core, and it takes 10 secs to load or so.. but Tekken 3 is still loading in 2 secs..

I dunno.

EDIT: Used Panasonic SD Formatter to do a quick format, then formatted again on the psp, and am testing now..

it also depends on whether your games are in ISO or CSO format and you could always try upping the read speed in the recovery menu (don't know what firmware your on).
On 5.00 m33-6 you hold R while powering on the PSP.

I checked my card through windows and it says 16,xxx,xxx,xxx(I'm lazy) bytes with 640kb used. Check the back of your card real quick and see if it says:
CE(big white bold letters)
MS-MT16G
D820L6L
AUCG10SS000

MADE IN KOREA

thats what my card has and it could vary, though your card should definitely have MS-MT16G and look like this

Also as DarkWay pointed out it could also be your firmware, m33-6 I know has a speed up access which should be set to ALWAYS through your recovery menu

Both psp games are in CSO, and i'm not sure about the read speed.
I'm on 5.50 Prometheus.
Tekken 6 loaded fine last time but Crisis Core and every other EBoot were read slowly.. Digimon World, Tekken 3..
That's cause i added Tekken 6 first.. It seems that the first game i add is the one that is read the fastest..

Vanth, mine is a Sandisk, Made in China i remember reading.. and it has no Mark 2 on it.

EDIT: it has only 1 line of code above the made in china.. it says BL1011813815G

EDIT2: It seems that every time i add another game or EBOOT, all loading times get slower..
