Safehax already has waithax built into it and I assume is going to have fasthax ready as well. So some of the streamlining is already there.
Yeah, I was looking at the source a little bit ago and saw that, and it's a good thing. It could be ran as a standalone 3DSX, perfect for booting from Soundhax. But I'd still want to try streamlining the rest of my idea as well.

Edit: https://github.com/TiniVi/safehax/commit/755677ada5fc093f3a001acc9ef9e5635d1dc0ef
TiniVi had to remove the include for Fasthax/Waithax, so that will still have to be streamlined manually.

Wow that would require a 1 1/2 hour boot time every time you boot.... seems legit...
Well, if you used it with waithax anyway, heh.

Related, may it rest in peace:

I thought that an NFIRM Downgrade is neccesary (<- probably misspelled that) does the ARM9 Khexploit bypass the no-older-firmware-files-blacklist-block-thing?
EDIT Ignore what I said Im just as much dumb as it is possible on this planet

NFIRM downgrade is needed because there weren't any ARM9 exploits since 9.5.0 came out. Downgrades on 9.3-10.7 (and on 11.0-11.2 after NFIRM downgrade) used an ARM11 kernel exploit.

ARM9 exploits give you full NAND access, so you'd be able to use this to downgrade the NFIRM if you were so inclined (it's just not needed). It also lets you launch CFWs. The reason for the downgrade to 9.2.0 is because it has an ARM9 exploit. Now you can get the same access on up to 11.2.0.

I'm following the guide for 11.2, downgraded my NFIRM with Sudoku, and now I can't gate Safehax to load Decrypt9 because the guide changed overnight. I just wanna do the 9.2U downgrade and move on, as I'm stuck. Decrypt9 files are exactly right, it just WILL. NOT. LOAD. I tried probably 20 times with no luck. It flashes a red screen, then stays lit up black on both screens. Anyone have the old 9.2 downgrade steps backed up somewhere?

I was wondering if I could still do the OTPless method(since I find that really convenient and am doing that for New 3DS systems)
after applying safehax?

N3DS or O3DS?
Because I bought Sudoku as well for my O3DS 11.2E

I wouldn't, it still occasionally will brick a system for an unknown reason. Only do it if you are willing to get the system hardmodded if it goes wrong just to save a small amount of time. (And, also, if you have a functional NAND backup taken beforehand, obviously. Otherwise you are risking an unrecoverable brick.)

I've been doing this, and especially for my softmod service, and I haven't got any bricks, but thanks for telling me.
Better to be safe than pay for a system. lololololol
The brick rate is low enough it seems, but it's definitely there. On 11.0/11.1 you'd have to wait for waithax twice to do it "safely" (once for Decrypt9 to make a backup, once for SafeA9LHInstaller) so the time save probably isn't big enough until fasthax is implemented anyway.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM

  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm

i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds

It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space

@rqkaiju2, Physical media is a great source for archiving your data, none of that cloud storage shiz.
