Homebrew SafeA9LHInstaller: No OTP?

Sorry in advance if this is a noob/stupid question.

I read somewhere that it's possible to install Arm9loaderhax without your OTP, specifically with SafeA9LH Installer. I looked around a bit and apparently it uses SHA register leftovers for the install instead of the OTP, however I have not found any info to back this up.

Can anyone tell me if this means we don't need our OTP to install?

Only if you had a9lh installed before, otherwise you MUST have it.

No, it's not possible. SafeA9LHInstaller uses the OTP's hash to check if the OTP was correctly dumped (only on N3DS), but you can't use that to install A9LH.

I do believe that is not true and that you still need your OTP. Unless there was an update that I missed, but since it hasn't been added to Plailect guide. So I am pretty sure the information you heard is not correct.

Oh, okay.
I'm still capable to get the OTP from my 3DS, it's just I was wondering if I actually still needed it.
