1) How do you cut branchs to make wood?

2) How do you know you are putting items in the shipping chest?

3) What items can you put in the shipping chest?

4) How do you cook freshly caught fish? Or can you just eat them raw?

In Rune Factory,

1) How do you cut branchs to make wood?
With an axe. You get it from Tabatha (The rich girl's servant)

2) How do you know you are putting items in the shipping chest?
It will sound different than just throwing something on the ground. If you have a doubt, wait until the next day and check your shipped items list for a change.

3) What items can you put in the shipping chest?

Just About Everything. Even the "flops" you create when you have little-to-no cooking experience.
Rocks, sticks, weeds, you name it.

To cook them you'll need both the cooking appliances necessary (such as knives) and the cookbook explaining how to make the dish. You cannot eat them raw, but you Can sell them.

I'm assuming you're talking about Rune Factory 1?

1) You get an axe at some point, just chop them and they automatically turn to lumber. Or you can pick them up and put them in your wood storage (IIRC)

2) Hm.. I recall there was a sound when you successfully deposit stuff in the chest. If you miss it and discard by accident you won't hear it. Best to enable that square thing in front of you and have it over the chest when depositing.

3) Virtually everything, except your farming tools. I don't think you can put weapons in there, but it's been a while. You surely can't in RF2.

4) Your cooking skill needs to be a certain level before you can sashimi fish. I don't remember eating food, sorry.

Seriously, I'd probably help you out, but I have no wi-fi here.
If you really want to cheat, I recommend you play via flashcart and use some of the cheats available in the cheat.db.
