Youtuber and reviewer Rich from ReviewTechUSA recently picked up a second PS4. He has two PS4's in his house hold and he noticed the one he bought for cheap had a louder disc drive than his launch day PS4.

Hard to tell from that video if you haven't heard the original. I just assume the other one is much quieter. Anyways he made the video thinking he had a faulty Blu Ray drive, turns out, Sony uses 3 different brands of blu-ray players. One just happens to be noisier than the rest... at least according to a comment he had on his video:

This is why I made that PS4 blu ray drive noise video. Awesome comment that gave me my answer:

"Mine makes that same noise. I called Sony to ask about it. They told me that they use 3 brands of bluray drives. And one of them is a little louder the the others. But shouldn't be a concern."

Even if this is true, it is not surprising or newsworthy. Electronic manufacturers often use similar parts from multiple source.

PS3 for example use mix of Delta and NIdec for cooling fan.

Meh, seeing how the 360 had like...4 or 5 different drive models this isn't all that hard to believe. Could be that each batch of PS4's that were manufactured used different BD Drives.

Though some comment from Facebook is hardly a reliable source.
