I hope they make an external UMD Drive, that way I can actually use my PSP for Games. Or if an exploit comes out that needs a certain game, I can get a UMD of it and apply that...

Well if the UMD Add-on could get homebrew somehow through a game then it's all good

Totally, if an exploit did come out that needed a game Sony probably would pull it from the PSN, or release an updated version, even if they didn't it would make you update to play the game possibly patching the exploit...

QUOTE(Splych @ Dec 3 2009, 05:42 AM) PSPgo + UMD Add-on = Pricey
PSP 2000 = Not Pricey

What's the point...? The PSP 2000 is clearly cheaper and is hackable =]
I think there might be some games for PSP Go only.

I got mine because 16 GB for a Music player is awesome even if it can't play games. But it would still be nice to be able to... As far as I am concerned until the PSP Go is hacked, it's just a media center and not a gaming device...

Making games cheaper than their packaged and physical brothers is pretty logical. I mean, if you buy the game, you get the case and booklets and stuff like that. If you download it, you only get the game. The money taken off from the download price would probably just be the equivalent of the production costs of making the physical box, disc, etc.

Even then, how would this save the PSP Go? You can buy an older PSP model for around $100, probably $150 max. A PSP Go still sells for almost $300. The money you'd save on buying an older PSP would be enough to buy plenty of games, or you can just skip that crap and install CFW and pirate everything and buy a large memory storage device (I forget what they're called for the PSP, sorry). It's not going to motivate anyone to buy a PSP Go. It'll only start selling decently if they lower the price to something like $199. When you can buy current gen home consoles for the same or near same price of a handheld, then there's a flaw.

Anyway, odds are Logitech would bend PSP Go owners over the bench for buying this. I mean, it would be the only current solution to playing your old PSP games on your new PSP. And Logitech would just say if it's "overpriced" that it's better than having to re-purchase the games. You could easily spend $400 on your PSP Go (system included) before you know it, and that's insane.

Yesterday a rumor appeared that claimed that Logitech was working with an external reader for the PSP UMD Go!, After inquiry that Logitech are not doing.

"This is not something we are doing is Logitech's response. Short and concise. They are not doing. Whether in the future UMD reader is an external appearance is not certain, but chances are terribly small.

Myth is busted. Oh yes, it is difficult to make a presentation of it. Sony are increasingly focused on online games distrubitie, and Logitech will suddenly come with a UMD reader for the PSP model is completely focused on the Playstation Network ...

gbatempiracy

PSP go needs a boost and nothing tht ppl are thinking of or thought of is gonna get it working since the bad design etc stuff have been engraved and thus nothing will impress buyers
i really thought ppl hated the psp slim cuz of the lines on screen, i guess many dont have any issues with it

I don't think you are allowed to talk about piracy here...
What do you think half the posts on GBAtemp are about then?

Hmm most sites don't let you. DCEmu goes far enough not not even allow talk about Backup Loaders, but their name is "dc EMU and isn't an emulator a backup loader too?

Further more the one admin is a n00b, because I was asking for help with a backup loader (didn't know about the rule) and he said "No Warez, read the rules" but I wasn't even asking for Warez, I was just asking for help on how to run a backed up Wii game using a backup loader that the developer released as freeware that could not possible be Warez...

The first agument why I'm not in favor of buying this piece of shit is that it has no UMD interface...
take that I'm a legal boy, and I'd bought many games before, so what I'm now with them? Garbage?

An addon would be perfect but not comfortable

Sony yet again tries to grab consumers by the grapes with an unreasonable price tag. Not only that, but they decide to scrap physical discs altogether. If an interesting download service had benefits, (to get it off the ground, really) while being able to maintain (or maybe even import!) registered UMD's, it could have been a good device..

I've seen a "Year in review" on gamespot, or was it ign.. They brought up this rumor for the 3rd party UMD add-on but they had an image, the thing was huge. It was like a black circle, making it about the size of the a full fledged CD. I doubt thats what the final model if it even happens (will sony let it fly?) but it really defeats the purpose of the go's "portability.."

No matter how well presented it may be, save the controls, I doubt they will get many returning customers, which is really what they should be aiming for in my opinion.

Sony said themselves that they are not getting rid of UMD's
