i hope this system goes down like the virtual boy. psp was cool for about 10 minutes, and that was when DA was developing his CFW. sony does not handle hand helds well, by adding a proprietary format just makes it that much worse.

i hate mspd. i got the photofast just for that reason.
PSP is still cool, it has many AAA games, games that DS will never dream of having. It still sold 60+ millions. It's not a fail, it was their first experiment on handhelds and the first one to even have a market share with Nintendo (30%). Better than nothing. Of course, it had it's problems, but it's still a great handheld.

I can agree with the propietary format complaining, it always bad. But if it's for reducing the price of NGP, I'm all for it.

I don't see why anyone would complain about Sony, a company that makes things along the lines of digital media, to use a media they made. Boo-hoo.

If you don't like the pricing, then you don't need it. It's expandable storage, not necessary. Odds are the NGP will have a decent internal storage size and could possibly come with this new expandable media if needed.

This just seems like another "hate Sony because they're Sony" thing going on.
I think you misunderstood me... It`s not that I dislike it. I just said that I guess that`s what people dislike about Sony using their own card instead of a cheaper one without any noticeable benefit (that has yet to be experienced though). I mean did anyone dislike the inclusion of Blueray? I don`t think so, since the benefit of having it and due to it being not much more expensive (PS3 games cost about the same as 360 games) was a good thing for the consumer.

I for one never used my handhelds for media other then games, since I use my phone for that so I never felt the need to update my storage-card but still I understand people getting upset over this, just like people got upset that the new iPad still doesn`t have a SD-Port simply because Apple wants people to buy their overpriced bigger-capacity models!

So bottom line it is not about the pricing of something and if someone can effort it... it`s about preventable cost that they tend to include to push their own media for no apparent reason but to simply force you buy a more expensive exclusive tech.

And with the resolution of a strong system such as the PSP2 I guess people will need a pretty big storage card but they might include a sufficiently big card which would make this discussion pointless... But I doubt that.

Proprietary media....Sony....surely not...

Lemme see just off the top of my head, Mini Discs, UMD's Pro Duo's, M2's....

Can anyone say cash cow?
The problem is they won with Blu Ray, so none of those matter any more.

Also, you forgot Beta Max.
