From a business standpoint it seems a little dumb unless the release them a distance from each other. Theres no doubt plenty of gamers who wouldnt want both copies but couldnt but both on the same day.
Companies get off on being competitive, Capcom will be wanting their version to sell the best and Namco the same. Its more of a true versus game this time around and fighter fans will probably end up getting both eventually so there is the "long haul" sales thing to consider too.
To me its like its more about each company proving they can do a better fighter than sales.
Never got into the Tekken style play so will be going for the Capcom version that.
