they say that the screen on the shonen jump article showed 2d gameplay like the original.

screenshot contained in the Jump article appears to show the game in its original 2D graphical style. Several previous Square Enix DS remakes—including Final Fantasy III and Final Fantasy IV—have made use of 3D graphics engines, while others, such as Front Mission, remained 2D.

It's a great game, but a sequel would be better than a remake, as all of the people that love CT, already know the story.

Remakes are too cheap.

lol it's kinda funny how DS > PSP game wise, sure PSP has a few gr8 games but look at all the great stuff on DS, some never released in English before. We got all the FFS, DQs, and now CT

btw word on the street is it's a straight port

(surely not right? Why bother with fancy flash pages etc. ? )

PSP can emulate Chrono Trigger perfectly yo

I do hope it's not a direct port...that'd be really lame.

Yay! As i was trying to get it to work on my DS, but it had major graphic issues using SNEmul(?)..

to use that clock as wallpaper, go to http://www.square-enix.co.jp/ctds/
download loader.swf and count.swf
make a .html file in notepad with the following code:

put them all in 1 folder
in display settings load the html as background.

but you can't turn off the sound (only SWF-muting program i could find mutes from browsers, but not from desktop)

this works for windows XP, but should work for any OS that allows HTML files as background.

I dunno if this is the launch date or the full unveiling of CTDS but I saw in the main page of squenix jp about a date linking to the ctds countdown written "coming soon 200807070000"

that's 7days from now... wow that's either a fast port or this game is very hidden to the public that it's really under the radar on the media...

if this launch is really the game itself FUCK I'll be playing the jap version first XD
