Hi, i bought about 20 RP2040 Tiny from Ali. They were cheap. I wasn't aware that clones existed. So. The led is totally off. I'm programming them with 2.75, so, i've read on some forum that if i remove the resistor near to the led, the led its going to work. So, i did it with one of them, and voila. The light it's on. Even for programming.

So. I have one doubt. Doing this have a side effect? Negative side effect? Can damage the console? Does anyone known this solution??

So, any comment about this subject are very kindly appreciated.

Thanks.

Shouldn't have a problem. That's what I've been doing with the clones from a batch I bought.

If you can get the real deal from Waveshare, I wouldn't bother with clones of unknown quality. For a single install, the cost difference is minimal. And if you get larger quantities to mod many units then you're that much more likely to get some duds. Those can result in:
  • A non-working mod. These will need a modchip replacement to fix.
  • A corrupted NAND/brick. Trying to recover from this is very likely to leave the console unable to use online servers.
  • Other issues that pop up some time later (glitching unreliably, taking a very long time to glitch, failing to glitch and booting to OFW instead...)
The time wasted solving those issues will cost more than the amount saved by buying clones.

If you use the newest picofly firmware from @rehius there is a software-fix recognizing the boards with the pullup resistor so you dont have to remove it.

Good to know, I think I will have to buy from ali, because from waveshare official its more expensive to send to my country, I will take a risk with clones, thanks for your answer too
