Hacking Rosalina Menu Not Working

I'm currently putting cfw on my friends 3DS XL using Jack Sorrell's Tutorial:
I've followed all the steps up to the step involving the Rosalina menu. When I try the input (L+Down+Start) absolutely nothing happens. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

Most important step for console hacking...never follow video guides. They are really quick outdated. Are the buttons not broken?
