Android rooting my xperia neo

googling around a bit, but haven't found a real solid tutorial ( like im used to here on gbatemp)
also i have some other questions:
any reasons to root my phone?
do i need a special rom for my phone or can i use anyone available?
what are the chances of bricking?

That's just Rooting instructions. I doubt there's an custom ROMs available, sadly.
