I picked up 2 DSTTs and they both exhibit the same behavior. It literally takes a couple full minutes to load a ROM.

I have the latest firmware and PNY 2GB cards. I tried formatting in FAT and FAT32. No difference.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Are you running the latest unofficial firmware? If yes, try downloading the newest infolib.dat

I am running the official firmware. Also, the SD cards are PNY. They might not be the fastest cards, but there's no way it should take 2 full minutes to load a 16MB ROM like Tetris.

Please tell me more about this unofficial firmware!

Thanks!

Here is a link to the unofficial update
http://filetrip.net/f9076-DSTT-Unofficial-...5D-1-17a12.html
A group lead by "Ashley" created an unofficial firmware with better support than the official firmware including Zelda - Spirit Tracks support.

EDIT - I have an M3 Simply running YSMenu using the unofficial firmware with the same PNY 2GB card and everything loads within a few seconds.

Guys - I think it's my cards. I grabbed the card from my DSi and tried it and the ROMs loaded fast.

I'll try the panasonic formatter, that's the last thing I know to try.

I did try the latest unofficial and it was no different. I swapped cards and that made all the difference in the world.

Oh well. I can return the cheap cards and buy better ones.

Thanks for the help!

I just wanted to report back.

I returned the PNY 2GB micro SDs to WalMart and grabbed the Sandisk ones. The games load fast now. It was 100% the cards.

The price difference was $9.88 for the PNY and $11.88 for the Sandisk.
