dont suppose there is a way to delete dup roms from folders? even if it was possible to delete the game from the local folder view that would be useful, but it seems to only delete the reference to them in there not the actual file. only if its in the card view mode you can physically delete them, but then you cant use the filters nor can you quickly open the view up as it has to reload it all each time

Yes you can delete games, if you read the quick-start guide it has a lot of useful info.

Hold Shift while deleting.

For everyone else, I'll re-evaluate the loading times, because I'm definitely not experiencing what you are experiencing, even on an older machine. I'll optimize it as much as I can.

Hank,

Would it be possible to display a default gamelist (and set default sortorder per list) after starup.
Personally I would like to see the list sorted descending on number right after starup.
Now I have to select my gamelist first and sort it manually.

Greets and thanks for your hard work.

Another interesting thing that maybe you could shed some light on....

In the Rom statistics it tells me:

Owned - 2330
Missing - 0
Size - 54.6GB
Valid - 4512

What does the valid mean in this instance and why isn't it 2330 (or less) ?

Have you been able to replicate the issue about not deleting the folders/files when clicking IDENTIFY ?

Weird, I'll look into the valid counter.

Also I can't really replicate much while I'm at the office

I've been at work the past couple days (I work 12 hour shifts) but I have the weekend off so I'll be able to do a little bit then.

Just out of curiosity, are all your games zipped, nds, or rzipped?

I'm getting the following error when I try to launch Rominator 2008.5:

An exception of class OutOfBoundsException was not handled. The application must shut down.

Any way around this?

ETA: Win XP SP2.

All my games are zipped

Send me an email
henry [=at=] hankchill [=dot=] com
And send your Settings.rod file from the Rominator Data folder.

@Sniffer: That is probably the issue. I'll optimize the zip recognition code, because it goes super-fast with NDS or rZip games

Yeah saving the last sort type would be cool. Right now when you view your gamelist it shows it by the order that you added the roms.

Not sure if this has been mentioned - I have been tryign to keep up with it all. But the AutoUpdate when you start rominator causes the green scrol bars to continuously run if you are not connected to the Internet. Maybe a "timeout routine" needs to be placed in to stop it from scrolling. It simply appears that it is continuously looking for an update. This is in Version 2008.5.

Also, is there a way to make it so that the Info Screen auto opens when you start Rominator.

Once you have a list is there any way to change the location of the ROMS for that list without having to create a new list? I ask because I moved Rominator from one machine to another and teh ROMS are stored in a different location but they are the eaxct same ROMS. I was hoping I could change the ROM path easily?

Lastly - I too am using Zip files and it takes a while for a new list, about 10 minutes odd for 427 roms - and it is only the first time when I create the list or when I click refresh (although refresh finishes in about 30 seconds so no real issue there). Opening it after the list has been created is really fast

Fantastic application, I am still yet to make my donation even though i do not really need the extra features.

I think you can create a new list and then have it scan the folder pointed to by that new list and import all of the roms at once.

I've now unzipped all my roms and created a NEW game list for the nds files (after deleting the other list) and it runs very quickly.......

I thought you might be happy to know, I've identified where the problem lies in adding and viewing zipped games -- It was running through an un-necessary function that just wasted program cycles. I've eliminated that and now zipped games runs as quickly as .nds or .rz

I've still got a few more things to fix and add though before I make a release.

There are four 256MB roms within the list - 1458, 1934, 2032 and 2205.

Any ideas as to why it won't verify the CRC on them and just crashes ? Can't be a coincidence, can it ?

There seems to be a memory issue with larger games that crashes PC's, not Macs though.

Interestingly the previous version of Rominator verifies the CRC just fine.....
