would storing the games as rzip have any adverse effects on them?

Not at all, but be sure to decompress them before putting them on your cart.

C'mon Sal, I thought you were like my right hand man when it came to Rominator!

Games will automatically decompress when you drag them to your flash card from within Rominator

And there are no adverse effects -- rZip is just like Zip, except extra data is stored within the file, such as the game icon, CRC, header/cartcode/rom version, so it makes for instant recognition in Rominator, as well as stores the game in a compressed format.

Regards.

I meant if he wants to put the rZipped game file itself on his cart

G'day guys first post here. Does anyone know how to set it so the game names on your card show the default way (i.e. the way they show up normally for example New Super Mario Bros. on the top line and Nintendo on the bottom line)?

So, are you asking if you can view the games in the list based on their internal information, or if you can modify the information? Your question is not clear, but I'll answer both.
• You cannot view the games in the list by internal info
• If you want to edit the display name, right click on your game and select 'Edit Internal Information'. However, this feature will be deprecated for the next release as I want to strictly move over to the management side of things, and not the editing side.

Regards,

Never mind it was a matter with my card not anything else. Sorry I was so unclear what I meant was I wanted my ROMs to show up like this http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v303/urz...GE/100_1029.jpg instead of this http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v303/urz...GE/100_1030.jpg. I thought it had to do with the Rominator but it was simply because I toggled the options on the card.

But just another quick question, what does the "used space" bar mean? How much has been trimmed or what?

The used space bar gives a quick visual of how much space the Rom actually needs therefore showing how much of the Rom could be removed by trimming.

It means how much space does the game use in the .nds file without being trimmed. If a certain game only uses 75% of it's 64MB, there's 16MB of unused space which can be trimmed off.

Hello there,

First of all your program rules!!!!

well...I know that this is a bit too much to ask but I was wondering if it was possible to add Proxy support...cause when I try to update the program from work (shhhhh don't tell anyone
ph34r.gif
) it doesn't work cause my office uses proxies to access internet....You could use the IE/firefox config or create a dialog for us to input that info... I would appreciate this a lot!!! Also there's one more thing ... the program should auto-update right after the welcome wizard....it would be easier to get things started this way!

Thank you for the magnificent program xD

Any chance of adding 7-zip support? 7-zip does a MUCH better job compressing NDS roms than zip does.

Short answer: No. Not happening.

Look back through the thread if you want the reasons; its been brought up numerous times.

Hey I'm having some trouble with my Rominator.

My game icon images are not appearing, and the trimming size is broken (but the bar is not)

Exit Rominator and delete 'cache.rsd' in your Rominator Data folder just to see if it helps.

Hi again,
Any updates on the Linux problem?

Thanks!

I've been coding from the ground up -- So far, the build works with Linux!

I'll keep you posted though
smile.gif

I just downloaded the last version for Linux and I get this error message when trying to run it:
CODE
Runtime Error 4: Failed Assertion
Press OK to Continue
Press Cancel to Quit.

Please report what caused this error
along with the information below.

../Common/loaderX86.cpp: 268
Failure Condition: lib->mLibraryHandle
Missing shared library /usr/lib/libc.so
I guess you meant that the next release will work in Linux but not the current one?

Yes, the next build works in Linux (or at least, so far as he's coded). The current release (and a number of previous releases) do not.
