I'm locked out of romhaxs for now. I don't have an SD adapter for my o3ds and I only had a loaned n3ds I'd been toying with, that I only put browserhax on. Could boot into linux and do smashax into themehax but.. lotta effort.

If you can somehow get an FTP client running on it, you could be golden :)

facepalm, meant to say braindump. Already have HANS up and working.
Should just be able to install braindump like a normal homebew app

I don't know, but I was able to get CTGP-7 working, it didn't change the track names, but they are modified.

braindump, retroarch and I think one more thing just refuse to show up in smea's hbl. downloaded a custom .sdmh for braindump off of the thread for it, dont have one for retroarch yet, but none of them appear at al.

If our current methods didn't take up 1.6gigs of mem i'd be golden, haha. I need an SDHC adapter for the SD port on the O3DS, cause I only had a 2gig SD card. I just bought a N3DSXL myself that ships in 4 days, and I was getting everything ready for that. I'm hoping a system transfer will bring over Ironhax + everything.. depending on the firmware that thing ships with..

You could always generate your own smdh to make do. There is a website that a member posted somewhere around here for that

Yea but its not working with romhacks.
Ah, that's what you're doing.

So far I've only gotten as far as getting custom music playing through sound test.

Did you remember to remove the header for the romfs?

What I did was extract the romfs files, copy the rom hacks over (in this case, a bgm file), rebuild the romfs and then remove the header.

Question- if we use Braindump, do we have to still pull aa .CIA ? Doesnt it just extract the romfs for us?
(Also, why do we need python? I don't see it used in the tutorial-)

for romhacks, we only need romfs so we don't need CIA's.
python's needed for the programs that you'll be using to extract the files from the romfs.bin file and for re-building it.

No, you only need to use braindump to get the romfs.bin
Then you need to use RomFS Extractor found here: http://pastebin.com/A1s8cmsD

Then replace the files, use RomFS builder to build it again with .romfs as your extension.
And use HxD to scrub off from the beginning to FFF/FF0 (the whole FF0 line) and make sure it says 1000, then press Backspace, and save it.

It should also be named what it says in HANS.

(Both RomFS things are found in the Pack Hack folder)

I didn't need Python, i have found a program that extracts it.

Got it working! braindump extracting smash as we speak, gonna go check out smash moveset editing tools and smashcore so i know what i'm doing

Wait what? Remove the headers off the romfs.bin? How do I do that?

i did that and got 'not a valid Romfs binary.'

Make sure you're using a clean romfs.bin, I got that error by attempting to extract AFTER removing the header

It could be possible that it's corrupted as well.
