ROM Hack Rom patching help

So, I am interested in trying some of the NSMB or various Pokemon hacks, but I run a Mac. Does anyone know a way to use all the different patch files on a Mac (since they cannot be run on a Mac)?

Hope I am not breaking any rules here, just trying to give some stuff a try is all.
