One pretty simple question:
I have installed a couple .wads that did not work, jet force Gemini, and banjo and kazooie (or however you spell it!!). Any ways, if I wanted to use to wad uninstaller, would it delete all the tickets from the channels I deleted even if I only use one channel to remove them? I am wondering because they all have the same tickets so shouldn't all the tickets be removed from just using one channel to uninstall? I would manually delete the channel itself.
Thats whats banner tool is for.
If you left the name the way it was in Banner Tool, then you will delete any legally purchased VC games and saves along with the failed injection.
If you did rename the wad in banner tool, then it won't have any affect on the other games.
creffca, I've been trying to get this injecting thing to work using your Injectuwad package for a while now.
I've had no luck so far.
I just downloaded your latest version 2.3, and still haven't got it working properly.
Before I go into detail about what I do and what goes wrong, let me submit a bug report on version 2.3:
The first character of the Ticket Name is now being changed to J every time, no matter what is set in injector.ini
For example, if I set it to TEST, the WAD Installer Channel reports it as JEST when installing.
When using randomticket=0 all the ticket names start with J as well.
This problem did not occur in the older version I was using before.
This is not a bug. The ticket name has now been reduced to 3 letters for a purpose. The first letter of the ticket actually describes the type of wad being installed. J = SNES. Renaming the entire ticket works fine for SNES and homebrew wads, but I seemed to get install errors when I would change the first letter in the ticket name for N64.

Alright, I guess I understand it to some extent. I injected Super Smash Bros. into SIN, and I injected a bunch of fails into SIN. Now, I tried to use the banner option on this, but it simply is still called "Sin and Punishment" on the wii menu, so either its not working, or it does not actually change the name in appearance. It worked to install Smash Bros (one of the few N64 games working with this), but for the ones it did not work I simply deleted the channel from the Wii Menu. I also deleted the wads. Is there no way to remove the tickets, or will they be removed from using the Smash Wad I made. I always used the default ticket on this program ("lol"). I hope this makes more sense. I have a somewhat limited knowledge of what goes on with these programs, and any help would be appreciated!!
Was just thinking about injecting into pal releases.
sin & punishment is a 480p 60hz emu.
wasnt all HANABI festival emus 480p & 60hz only based?
has anyone tried inject snes USA roms into gradius III for snes?
And another thought.
Was Lost levels an FDS emu or a NES emu?
If so we may have an FDS emu also.
I guess switch disk side A to side B would be a problem.
What if games like Doki Doki Panic would work perfect?
Or is that version just a cartrige remake version?
Hmm... This whole 'injecting' thing is a lot harder that it seems at first glance.
Anyway: I am attempting to get a standard S&P .wad injected with a SmashBros.z64 (downloaded from em_-parad_se), and, after using the injectuwad tool, am winding up with a VC-supersmashbros.z64.wad file that is 242 KB (!?). I was thinking perhaps in order to fix this abnormal file size one must use the wadpacker, which starts automatically after injectuwad, yet it doesn't seem to do anything. I am getting an error: "open (getfile) 000000100.app: No such file or directory" which makes sense because there is no 00000100.app in the folder. Is this error normal and there is some other problem, or is the file supposed to be 242 kb (which I find hard to believe considering the ROM itself is larger >_>)?
On a side note, I get a -4100 error when trying to install the .wad.
Thanks guys for all your work previously and creffca for this useful application (despite how confusing it can be
use the cmd in windows it makes things much easier =D
or copy this example but change the lines to fit where you put your folder
c:
cd \
cd packer/bfgr_wadtools_v038/
wadunpacker.exe wad/title.wad -> change to Injectuwad.exe (insert rom name) (insert wad name)

Okay, that's cool. I did think it was odd that the default name in injector.ini was only three letters long now.
I take it the three letter ticketname in injector.ini is the three letters that come after the J then?
Okay, here's all the details I could gather about what happens when I try to inject a rom.
I'd be grateful if anyone else could try to duplicate my process and see if you get different results, or post a similarly detailed report on their own process using Injectuwad 2.3 that resulted in a wad that actually works.
I'm using Super Mario All-Stars + Super Mario World (E) [!].smc renamed as marioe.smc for ease of typing.

When Banner Tool pops up, I open the 00000000.app which has MD5: 287853eba0e4624eed35f9d98d606212 before I edit it.
I enter the name Mario E like this:
<img src="http://img261.imageshack.us/img261/434/editedbg7.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
Then click save, and it looks like this:
<img src="http://img204.imageshack.us/img204/4481/savedhi2.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
Then I check the MD5 of 00000000.app again, and it is: 7f1c6fd7518100119e47199aad29ca4d
I close Banner Tool and wait for Injectuwad to complete its work.
The resulting file is VC-marioe.smc.wad
MD5: 800d9dd1c47e8aa6f38da1fc07023cf7
When I try to install it using the WAD Installer channel, it installs fine, with a ticket name of JKLM, which is what was expected.
Once installed, it has the DKC2 image, but the name is Mario E as expected.
<b>When I try to run it, it shows the "You will need the Classic Controller" screen, and then just sits on a black screen.</b>
The Home menu is still functional, and I can view the DKC2 Operations Manual.
I use the Home menu to return to the Wii Menu and then un-install it with the wad Uninstaller channel.

I get this too, although it does not always happen. I think its an issue with DesWad itself because I was previously using the original 1.0 version as a stand alone WAD extractor and was having the same issues, although randomly.
I've been playing with this for the last 24 hours or so (my wife is annoyed at my newest distraction from the housework) and I keep running into the same issue.
I get a message in WadTool: File Access Denied when I select the source.wad file. 9 times out of ten the program will say "wad header too big." A handful of times it actually did get the header, but it always finishes with .des file not found. I feel like I'm missing something obvious.

I only get that issue if I try to extract in a folder on my desktop. If you move injectuwad to C:\injectuwad\ i haven't had it misplace the files since....
my guess is it can only hand paths that are X characters long
stuff
Well, if it freezes after the class controller screen it means that ROM is not compatible. The process did succeed though, so try a new rom.
