Gaming Rock Band 2 update

I know it's a bit early but does anyone anticipate the 3.4 update with Rock Band 2? I'm getting the game from my wife for Xmas and would to hate to update my Wii in order to play it (I'm currently on 3.3U).

I was also thinking that if I have the original disc, I may be able to trick the Wii into using the drivers for the back up disc with a disc swap...

Or I could always install the soft-chip mod with cIOS 242, right?

My soft-mod has been very very good to me as I don't install any crazy WADS or anything and I plan on keeping it that way. I know that 3.4 is still able to have the HBC on it, but I'm not sure about the updated TOS.

Thanks in advance for any insight on this matter.
