I'm having a problem. Riivolution was working last night, but now when I run Riivolution it just says loading, and it won't change. I have probably had it on for 30 minutes but it hasn't done anything. If I click exit with the Wii remote, nothing will happen but exit won't light up when I hover over it. The cursor still appears though, but I end up having to turn off my Wii. I tried using SSBB and NSMBW (retail discs), but same result. I'm using Wii System version 4.1E (I'm on a pal wii). I also noticed that reggie dumper isn't working (ISI error or something). But the game runs fine through the Disc Channel. Help please?

i have had similar issues, and i found its the xml files, if you delete your current xmls and replace them with new ones, even if they are the exact same, it will start working again.. dont know why, but it worked for me that way..

Too bad there's no source code so we could make it work with backupz.

That should be rephrase to Since it is not working with back up I will have to get a job this summer to buy the game I like to play. Do your chore around the house and maybe your mommy will buy you the game.

No.

This thread is LOLtastic. I imagine this is exactly what the creators of RV had in mind -- creating a big copy vs. original stinkfest. I don't see why anyone is that upset...I give it a month, tops, before someone either releases Riivolution MOD/Wiivolution/whatever knockoff program that does the exact same thing, or Ocarina patches that point a game to the modified data files, or a cIOS update that accomplishes the same goal, albeit with copied discs. You don't need source to patch existing code, and if Hermes or Waninkoko want to add the feature, I'm sure they can both easily accomplish such a feat without even needing to do any reversing. Hell, SNEEK already does I/O redirection, just in a different manner.

I'd take that bet, given "exact same thing" would include network support and being able to run without installing anything (including bootmii and HBC).

Yeah, it don't matter to people with "backups" I guess. Since they would already have Homebrew channel and bootmii already installed. lol

Well, if you get your Wii to run backups through the disc channel(without a reloader), you should be able to use this with them. This is a guess, anyway.

If you have a modchip, then yes. If you don't have one, only retail discs will work with Riivolution. If you ask why, see the other Riivolution thread.

I have a modchip, but my backups still don't work. They work through Disc menu, and everything else though. They did a good job on making this anti-piracy.

Only if you want Riivolution as a channel on the system menu.
What about this strange ios this tool uses?

Riivlolution only works with one IOS37 revision. It loads IOS37, patches it in memory(maybe someone from TT helped here) and then boots the game. The patched IOS is never anywhere near the nand.

To be more exact, it uses the current version of IOS37 which you will get from a system update (no downgrading required). Future updates will be able to use other IOSes if it is deemed necessary. Nobody from TT helped with Riivolution.

Ok i said maybe. I thought that because i heard that the hackmii installer works in a similar way which makes it necessary to use unmodified IOS there too.
