Gaming Reverse Mario Odyssey Update 1.2.0?

no, and if had a way, the game wouldn't work because the saves files are on a superior version and they wouldn't load
If I had a Switch with no Mario Odyssey data on it whatsoever, if I bought a physical copy of the game, and used the DNS block, it'd stay on the very first version, correct?

if it hasn't ever connected to the Internet, yes, but with the DNS block it ask to update.
The ideal situation is a 3.0.1 switch with a day 1 card and never connected to internet

you can always deny the update (without dns), I got mario odyssey on christmas and denied the update (even though the talkatoo glitch wasn't patched then) to do the talkatoo glitch. then you can update.
this also applies to botw, can't downgade because it has a higher save file.

To my understanding once you have downloaded a game's update data onto your Switch it becomes impossible to play the game without the update data. Even if you format your Switch you wont be able to play the game again until you redownload the update. For the time being your only way around this is to buy a new Switch. In the future CFW might change this.
