Update Time!

On the RetroArch issues:
I installed RA-Frankenstein, Vanilla RA, and RA-Hexaeco as standalone apps. RA-Hexaeco won't run at all, just kicks me to Homebrew Channel on load. RA-Frankenstein and Vanilla RA both load, but seem to have problems browsing my SD card. When I go into directories, it still shows me the root even though the path updates (this is when trying to run solely from the SD Card). I tried doing this again, but running solely off the HDD, everything works when I update everything in Settings/Directories to absolute paths instead of their relative paths (ie: "USB:\Retroarch\Config" instead of "Retroarch\Config"). It seems to be getting confused as to where to find things. Is there a way to set the defaults for these Directories settings? Every time I load something (and even when I save and load retroarch.cfg) everything changes back to the relative paths.

On the theme:
I have added many missing sources to the source menu, including splitting out the MAME sources as suggested. Those changes are currently available on Github. I am still working on updating the coverflows, but have just replaced the file with the one that Rhapsodii Shima uses in the meantime. Please let me know if you notice anything else missing, or have any other feedback. I appreciate your time.
For the Hexaeco Mod install, try using the attached boot.dol to see if it boots. All cores use their own separate directories and configurations.

As for vanilla RA, i have not used/tested in quite some time. When a new version is released, i immediately modify the cores to be compatible with Frankenstein.

So for Frankenstein, all cores should use their own separate configuration meaning each cores directories, video cfg, input cfg will have to be set.

For both Hexaeco and Frankenstein, once you set the paths for roms then set video cfg and input cfg, they should always save when exiting.

Individual game input and video input are supported by both and work very well. Using through WFL should not cause an issue with either since Frankenstein can share cfg with WFL and Hexaeco has its own dedicated cfg for WFL.

It is strange behaviour what you are experiencing...

I will install your latest theme release when i get some free time later.:)

Edit:: @joksta bleak

Theme coming along nicely, definitely improved.

If you are interested...attached is my coverflow.ini i use for my RhapShima Source theme. It has 14 different coverflows to choose and covers all systems, use as you wish. I included the platform.ini as well.

It is not a suggestion to use, only to test and see what might be appealing then add edits depending on your taste.

Following up, if you drop either "Clean" Hexaeco or Frankenstein on your SD, you will not have any issues. They are dummy proof.

I have tested both installs at least 2 dozen times. SD/USB both work 100%. Communication is important to troubleshoot, but i believe you are error.

To simplify things...standalone Hexaeco cores are obligated to paths. They cannot avoid this unless edits were made to the emulator.dol.

Same for the RA mod cores...one would have to make hex edits to change paths for these cores.

You cannot mix Mod cores with vanilla cores, it defeats the whole purpose. This is most likely your issue!!!

If you did the homework reading...

Hey @RunningSnakes, Hexaeco did boot after replacing boot.dol - thank you for that. I am still running into issues with relative paths, but this gives me somewhere to direct attention.

I did try using a clean install of both HEXAECO and Frankenstein on the SD card (no mixing and matching with vanilla, just also tried vanilla later). RetroArch seems to have issues reading my SD card (everything else can read it fine, HBC, YAWMM, etc). I can't even browse through the directories to get to my ROMs or choose a core. The root directories show up, but when I try to go into them, it just brings me back to root. Vanilla RetroArch does the same (this was to find out if this was an issue within RA itself, and it looks like it is). I am using a 32GB microSD in an SD adapter, RetroArch doesn't seem to like that. But, it can browse my USB HDD just fine.

Thank you for the different coverflows, I will be testing them out today and should have an update posted later this evening.

Replacing the SD card and moving all apps (including WFL and plugins) onto it seems to have worked. Apologies for not having the updated flows for the theme ready yet, I have been spending all of my free time getting this set up - I will get to it soon. It's a shame that RA and Hexaeco don't behave in a HDD-only environment. But, at least it's working now. I appreciate your help @RunningSnakes.

Np my friend, glad to hear you are making progress. :) Yes, things can be frustrating when you are not at error rather device issues, been down that road many times.

Looking forward to your next update...
