It still needs OC?
It performs the same as the regular mupen-next builds, so games that need OC for full speed on regular mupen-next will still need OC. That build just gets rid of the stuttering that happens when your start games with the dynarec (if you’re using recent AMS/hekate)

That seems to be an older build. Admittedly that is confusing.

No, it doesn't.
ok so now ive got the file youve shown me im still getting slight lag in mario 64.
1. why cant i just use the retroarch nsp instead of changing atmosphere settings and overriding a title thats on my system?
2.can i just install the homebrew nsp and load it through that? seeing as the title changing thing just loads the homebrew menu anyway?

1. Because homebrew nsp files have incorrect permission attributes.

2. No, but you can use the Homebrew Menu nsp as your title replacement title if you want.

ok thanks for explaining. i have used lets go evie to load homebrew menu and then i load mupenplus next.nro i still get a horrible amount of lag. either im doing it wrong or the only one that isnt ok with the lag it produces. has nobody seriously got a full detailed guide written out for this? ill gladly do one if not once i have it working

Don't load the .nro directly. Put the .nro into /retroarch/cores/ then load through Retroarch itself.

Try deleting the two cfg files - retroarch.cfg and retroarch-core-options.cfg

i just deleted the 2 configs. using the right files now. seems to be working ok. zelda still has some slow downs. thanks for your help guys. ill test this out and see how it goes. any settings advised to have turned on/off?

Any recommended settings on Mupen64?

I've been playing the first segment of Majora's Mask until the first time-reset and save and it's very playable and has no graphical issues, but there's slowdown and stuttering sound sometimes for entire rooms. I have no idea of where the stress is and whether it's an emulation specific issue or an issue with Switch's hardware limitations, so I have left the game with mostly original emulation settings and a nearest filter instead of bilinear.
