Dithering doesn't seem to be working on PCSX-ReARMed. Games like Silent Hill look really rainbow-like.

Enhanced resolution is also useless. I really hope these two things get fixed in the future, PS1 games can look gorgeous with the right settings.

Are EBOOTs not working? I waited a long time for it to load but it did't.

I tested the one I am using on RetroArch Mac and it works.

Hmm. My BIN/CUE also doesn't work.

Do you have the bios in the system folder? Though it should be able to load even without them (for most games).
Yes my BIOS is there, the system folder was copied over from my Mac.

I guess it could be I'm using the nightly/latest core download?

I get same non-working results using 1.7.5 stable or latest nightly.

If i have too many thumbnails on my sd card i get some troubles (for example devmenu is freeze for long time when click “install from SD”). Is where any way to put all thumbnails in one .zip file (like I did with roms)?

How do I do ANYTHING with RetroArch?

A friend asked me to install it, but the default menu is ugly as sin, we want to put the theme to XMB.

Also, we don't know how to add any cores or roms to it.

Setting XMB, then saving the config does nothing, even after restart, puts us back to the start.

That sounds odd.
How exactly did you enable XMB? Be sure you get the updated assets first, as the other menus depend on the assets for a lot of things, like icons and different themes.
It should be in settings -> Driver -> Menu Driver (if I recall correctly)
Also, for the cores, you should go into the "Online Updater" and then there should be an option to Download cores or something.

The ROms you put them wherever you want in the SD card, just be sure to browse to the correct path when using RetroArch.

Here's the thing, we'd like to avoid using the online updater as he would like to try being able to go online by keeping his system clean.

Any suggestions for how to manually add cores?

Thanks for the quick response.

I've actually done exactly the same thing, settings, driver, menu driver, but even when I save it, it doesn't work, it always rolls back to rgui.

We're using the NSP version, is that causing some problems?
