Apologies if this has been asked before, but I searched and couldn't find an answer.

What is the most minimalist/lightest installation of retroarch I can do on my SD card? Other than removing all cores, of course.
I tried looking for alternatives, but Retro-NX doesn't work properly with the xmb menu.

That error is normal, you are using a «invalid» NSP. NSP files created by anyone beside of Big N ALWAYS WILL HAVE invalid signatures because only they have the private key.

which software are you trying to install/run?

From. my experience and from the folder and settings i use:
  • 8-16 bit and old MAME stuff - Runs well without much tinkering or overclock.
  • Psx - Bios is needed for compatibility, some games require mild OC. (Read that Saturn is similar though there more compatibility issues with some games, haven't tried though)
  • N64 - Most games run perfectly though many will need OC to run well.
  • Dreamcast - Bios is needed for compatibility, runs most games pretty well. OC might be needed for higher resolutions.
  • Nintendo DS - Can't get it to run well even with OC and bios, tried MelonDS and DSMUME cores. You are better off using a standalone emulator.
  • PSP - Most games run well, OC will be needed for some and for higher resolutions, bios is recommended and also some games will need to be not-trimmed to work decently.
  • 3DS - Some games run at playable framerate with some hiccups (OoT, Majora's Mask), OC will be imperative pretty much for all games. What i noticed with my testing is that upping the resolution to 2x doesn't have much impact on the performance in some games, so for better clarity you can up the resolution on the quick menu on a per-game basis.
I'm trying PSP core, some games need BIOS but I don't know the files it needs. I have searched list of bios for PSP but I don't get. I have downloaded an archive with full bios files for multiple systems but I can't identify for PSP

I have downloaded some "assets" that indicate core instructions and save inside system/PPSSPP folder but "Spiderman 3" still request for BIOS files

Hi everyone, I have a problem regarding the emulation of 3DS games on Retroarch, obviously installed on Nintendo Switch.
I'm basically trying to play Pokémon X and Y.
The games start and go quite well overall, the only problem however is the audio.
The only thing you hear while playing are sound effects, such as when you press "A" to change dialogue, Pokémon moves and when I open a menu.
I tried changing the game to Pokémon Omega Ruby and everything sounds perfect.
So I don't understand, are the Pokémon X and Y ROMs having problems or is there some particular setting that needs fixing on Retroarch?
I've tried everything but nothing has worked so far.
Thanks for any replies!

I haven't got the games. But I'd suggested trying them on a different platform like your pc too see if there's an issue with the ROMs. You could also try lakka on the switch.

Is there a setting for n64 games to run smoothly. Trying to figure out if it’s possible to make killer instincts gold to run smoothly for the most part if that’s possible. Banjo-kazooie runs smooth without over clock. Not sure if all games can work smoothly.

KI Gold is one of the few unplayable games

Nintendo made an app for that.

Aren't those games both on NSO? Just go download a hacked NSO file, and run it off of there. lol

I know they’re both there, I was just trying to see if there was a way to make the game run well on retroarch. Banjo was just basically an example when I mentioned it of a game that just works.

I just installed Retroarch, "does not support the current ABI", I got an error trying to install a core, anyone else experiencing problems with latest CFW?

Is there a way to get a shortcut to the main menu from a rom in Retroarch?

RetroArch works perfectly for me, only the Sega Dreamcast (Fylcast) Core crashes. Game Boy and PSP games work very well.
