Is there any way to change the resolution using the psx emulator? What is the best place to check for new versions of it? I find it hard to use the psx emulator after experiencing n64 games in 720p on the switch.

yeah psx emulation with 3d games is absolutely useless for me as long as there is no option to change the resolution . On psx beetle hw
( especially the Vulkan version) are so many cool options to enhance the graphics

So once native 1080p is available through nightlies, how do I update it? Update each core? Or assets through online updater? Or download everything on computer and reinstall clean? Thanks I’m advance!

Whatever you like. Just make sure that if you use the NSP, uninstall it first.

Hi !
What is the latest NSP available, since there is no NSP bundled with nightlies ?

I remember I grabbed the one you post when you released OC :grog:

Has anyone experienced issues with the DOSBox core crashing entirely when loading some games? Namely Jazz Jackrabbit and Little Big Adventure 2. LBA2 crashes so hard that it crashes Retroarch entirely.

I’ve also tried the latest nightly build with no improvement

Weird, I'm able to make it run almost fullspeed (It's one of my favorite game, a personal goal to achieve when running emulators). Are there different version of the game?

What commands do you run to launch the game?

Can confirm that 1080p docked is working on the Jan 1 nightly nro! It seamlessly swaps the UI and render size while running (can tell by looking at integer scaling), so you can dock and undock at any time. Horizon UI keeps the same pixel size so you can see more text at once in 1080p. Only catch is if you were using a controller while docked, you will need to change order/grip manually to get back to handheld.

If you were thinking about adding back the 720p->1080p upscale option, in theory just plain overriding the system settings to output native 720p would probably be more useful if that was possible. That gets you larger integer scaling for 240p systems on 4K TVs.

Can you detail what you replaced plz in RA to get this working. I downloaded the nightly build posted Jan 1st but when I load a n64 rom it just crashes everytime in Atmosphere CFW. Homebrew channel was used to launch RA

I haven't been playing any n64 roms. I use atmosphere's .ini to redirect a commercial game title to hbmenu. I always extract the zip file straight to the switch SD root and overwrite everything.

You gave yourself already the answer: you must install .nsp version of RA to run N64 roms. This is all written at the first page of this thread.

Hey just a quick question and help would be greatly appreciated. I've been playing a game on genesis plus and when ever I load a previous save state I get a error and have to shut down retro arch. Any ideas boys and girls?

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space
